Privacy notice
Last updated: October 22, 2026
MPK Academy is an independent TEF Canada and TCF Canada preparation tool, currently in a closed beta. This notice explains what we collect, why, and how you control it.
What we collect
- Account: first name, last name, email address, and password (your password is handled by our authentication provider; we never see it).
- Goal: your target exam, NCLC target, target date, and preferred language.
- Learning: your assessment and practice answers, results, mistakes, lesson progress, any writing you save in practice, and, when you ask for it, AI feedback on your writing and spoken answers (transcript, pace and pauses, feedback, and corrections you report as wrong).
- Beta: the invite code you used and your access period.
- Technical: essential cookies (sign-in session and language) and, when something fails, a technical reference that never includes your answers or password.
- Usage counts: we count how many visitors reach a few key steps (for example, starting the assessment), as daily totals per language that never identify you. A marker stored in your browser only prevents counting you twice on the same day. Browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are not counted.
What we don't do
- We never store your voice. If you record a spoken answer for feedback, the recording is transcribed and then deleted; otherwise speaking practice remains self-practice without recording.
- We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your information.
- We do not send anything to an AI service, except a text or recording you ask to have reviewed by AI after agreeing to it.
AI feedback on writing and speaking
- Only with your agreement, when you ask for feedback: we send your text or recording, the task, your exam and target, and your interface language to Groq (United States), which transcribes recordings and writes the feedback. Your name and email are not sent.
- Your recording exists at MPK only while it is transcribed: it is never stored. We have turned on Groq’s Zero Data Retention setting, so Groq does not keep your text, audio, or transcript, including for abuse monitoring.
- We keep your text or the transcript of your answer, your pace and pause measures, and the feedback in your account so you can review and compare them.
- You can withdraw your agreement at any time in Settings. Texts already reviewed stay in your account until you ask us to delete them.
- AI feedback can be wrong. It is a practice aid, never an official result.
Why we use it
To create and secure your account, calculate your results, recommend your next activities, send account emails (confirmation, password reset), and fix technical problems.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored with Supabase (database and authentication). The site is hosted by Vercel, account emails are sent by Resend, and, if you agree, your answers are transcribed and reviewed by Groq. These providers may process data outside Canada.
How long we keep it
- Learning data is kept for as long as your account exists.
- Technical error references are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- When the beta ends, we will tell you before anything changes to your data or access.
Your rights
You can ask to access or correct your information, or to delete your account and data, by emailing support@mpkacademy.com. We reply within 30 days.
What MPK Academy is not
MPK Academy is not an official TEF or TCF organization or an immigration adviser. Our results are practice indicators and do not predict official scores.
